When Tom was about 14 he picked up his brother's guitar. He obviously couldn't play straight away so he strummed away for a while and he got really into it.
After a while his mom and dad bought him a guitar and he kept practicing and working on it. The first song he learnt to play on guitar was Wonderwall by Oasis.
The X Factor came to his town and it was for 16 year olds and over and Tom was 16 so he went and tried out. He got up to the very first round which is the producers not even the judges. Unfortunately though he froze up and the audition went really badly so he didn't even get past that round. That really knocked his confidence alot and he stopped singing for a while thinking that if he wasn't good enough for The X Factor he wasn't good enough for any singing.
After a while though his confidence his confidence came back slowly but surely and he did a few gigs around his town in a pub that one of his parents friends owned and that gave him the thrill of performing to a crowd and then he was hooked for good.
He went to university and he studied Physics for about six weeks because he originally wanted to be a pilot, but after a while he didn't really like it anymore so he just quite. He went to college again after a while and he studied Geography but he didn't really like that either and when he got his results he had failed his exams so as gutted as he was he quite college and took up music instead. He was living in Sheffield with a friend of his when he was looking for auditions and he found some castings and he thought "sure why not" and he went to the Jayne Collins boyband audition ........
